Records stay on your device

Notes, audio, photos, transcripts, case labels, and organization drafts are stored on your iPhone. Kirokune does not automatically send this record content to us or to an analytics provider.

App measurement and ads

To improve the app, we review how Kirokune is used in Firebase/Google Analytics as aggregate statistics that do not directly identify you. The fields the iOS app itself attaches are limited to preset, fixed categories; record content and free-form entries cannot be passed into this mechanism. The categories sent are:

• Feature use: basic usage such as app launches and sessions, and for each feature — such as notes, recordings, photos, chat import, cases, record details, playback, transcription, review, PDF export, dictionary, reminders, lock, account, and purchase or restore — whether it was shown, opened, started, completed, failed, cancelled, unavailable, or pending, together with the feature name, a fixed entry point (such as Home, the case list, record details, or Settings), and a fixed result category (such as permission denied, unsupported, not purchased, or a read or save failure).
• Onboarding: start and completion, how far you got through five broad stages, the preset choice you picked for each of the “situation”, “what to keep”, “support style”, and “review rhythm” questions (situation is one of Workplace, Home or partner, School or community, or I’m not sure yet), and whether you revisited the guide from Settings. Free-form entries such as nicknames are not sent.
• Records and cases: the type of record saved (recording, note, photo, or chat), the situation category of the case it belongs to (Workplace, Home or partner, School or community, or unassigned), the situation category when a case is created, and that a first record was saved.
• Chat import: the source (an export file from LINE, Slack, WhatsApp, Apple Messages, KakaoTalk, Messenger, Instagram, or Telegram; pasted text; screenshots; or a screen recording), the read result (succeeded, file unavailable, unreadable encoding, or unrecognized content), whether it was placed in a case, which service’s import guide you opened, and that you opened the LINE import guide. Chat content and file names are not sent.
• Reminders, account, and plan: the review reminder setting (off, weekly, or a few days after a record) and whether notification permission was granted; that the account prompt or form was shown or an account was created; and that the plan screen was shown or closed, a trial started, or a purchase completed.

Every event also carries the app language selected in Kirokune and a measurement version number. We may also review Google Analytics standard fields, such as its approximate country or region and the iOS and app versions, for product improvement.

What the app itself sends for analytics does not include record text, audio, photos, transcripts, counts, free-form entries, case or person names, the dates of your records, file names, or product IDs. Automatic screen-view measurement is turned off, and we do not analyze the order in which screens are viewed.

Free accounts may show non-personalized Google AdMob ads. We do not use cross-app tracking or use record content or activity history to target ads. Google may receive IP address and device or OS information to show an ad and prevent fraud. Paid plans do not show ads.

When you choose an optional registration or sign-in form, analytics records only that the form was shown, that an attempt began, the broad method (email registration, email sign-in, or Apple), and whether it ended signed in, waiting for confirmation, failed, or was cancelled. It does not send email addresses, passwords, confirmation codes, tokens, or unprocessed error messages.

Optional services

If you choose to create an optional account, Supabase Auth processes the email address, authentication information, and account identifier needed for sign-in. Purchase status and restoration are handled through the App Store and RevenueCat. Record content is not sent for either purpose.

This website

Cloudflare may process technical request data to deliver this website. Some pages on this website use Google Fonts, which your browser requests to display type. Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics load only after you choose Allow in the cookie notice; declining does not block reading this site.

Feedback and contact

If you use the in-app Send a bug report or request form, only the category you choose, your message, and the app and OS versions — plus your email address if you ask for a reply — are sent through a Cloudflare Worker to a private Slack channel managed by Kirokune. We use your email address only to reply to that message. Record text, audio, photos, transcripts, case names, and people’s names are not sent automatically. We use the information you choose to send to respond and investigate. Do not include records or sensitive information unless necessary.
